Workshops & Training

Laura Peña Pantano, Ed.D. works with colleges, K-12 schools and school districts to develop tailored interactive workshops to meet your individual needs.

Workshops and training sessions are designed with Higher Education and K-12 in mind! Other consultants come from corporate backgrounds and struggle to understand the ins and outs of educational environments. Laura’s 20+ years of experience in education eliminates having to explain to consultants “how we are different” and avoids the inevitable conversation in which you try to explain “that’s not the way it works here.”

Professional Development Training for Staff and Faculty

Engage your staff and faculty in conversations about what it means to be civil on your campus.

Workshops are designed with three goals in mind:

  1. Build Awareness – What is Incivility?
  2. Identify the Impact of Incivility – How does it impact your institution? The individuals who work there?
  3. Identify Ways to Create Civil Environments – What steps do we take to create a civil environment at our institution?

Assessement

Customized Campus Civility Assessments are also available to help gauge the prevalence of incivility at your institution and identify the areas of greatest concern.

Student Leaders

Incivility is not limited to staff and faculty. It happens in all types of groups including student organizations and para-professional staffs, such as RAs, Peer Mentors, Orientation Leaders, and Programming Boards.

Beyond Mean Girls is an interactive program specifically designed to educate college students about incivility and how they can create environments that are focused on respect and civility. Lessons learned from Beyond Mean Girls can not only be implemented immediately, but are life lessons that can be extended into students’ professional lives beyond their college years.

Beyond Mean Girls is the perfect addition to fall or spring student leader training!
